History:

New York Walk & Train is the collective brainchild of Luna & Colleen. Luna is a rescued boxer(ish) who owns dog trainer, Colleen Safford.

Luna needed a walker with a quick stride and the throwing arm of a Yankees pitcher. Colleen needed a walker to help consistently reinforce Luna’s manners. Luna’s interest in street cleaning cigarette butts & napkins while pulling like an iditarod trained sled dog were a concern. She also needed reminding that offering a sit is the more appropriate way to say hello to neighbors, versus her super double jump-lick.

And so the search began….
Colleen, “That walker was in it for the money, he was going to walk you with 6 other dogs!”
Luna…wiggles
Colleen, “That walker loved you, but was too dog crazy !! She let you jump all over to say hello!”
Luna…wiggles
Colleen, “That walker was too busy, he couldn’t come to see you consistently everyday.”
Luna…wiggles

After many interviews…still nothing.

Finally, Colleen met a walker she really liked. She only wished she knew a little more about Luna’s routine requirements. So she asked the walker to attend her puppy classes to learn a bit more about general dog behavior & manners.

Perfect! A walker who could not only exercise her, but one Colleen knew would also help stay consistent with her daily routine.

Walker found!!! Thus, the beginning of New York Walk & Train!
